There was plenty of available seating and we were able to order our drinks and be served quickly. We got there at a fairly busy time, early afternoon and I was told the wait was about 45 minutes but we could sit in the Fireside Lounge and get drinks and apps while we waited. I tried to see if reservations were required for a larger group, six people, but we didn’t need them. I had been daydreaming about going to The Peppermill for months and finally got to go in April and was not disappointed. What’s the point of living life if you’re just going to live it on a device? Although this is my personal choice, I much rather shop at a local establishment with a fun menu and a cheerful staff. I really enjoyed my time here, normally I would just ignore this, but I’m tired of being forced to use my phone everywhere. Took away my experience at this restaurant completely. The fact that I am forced to use this device defeats the entire purpose of me distancing myself From Mobile phone dependency. Personally, I’m trying to get away from using my phone and putting it on silent. I couldn’t help feel how depressing this was. As I was there, I witnessed five out of seven people staring at their phone while in line, completely unaware of the beautiful pastry display case on the right. This is very unfair and completely takes away from the neighborhood restaurant experience. This restaurant requires you to use a smart phone, assuming the customer should not only own this device, but set the customer experience as a requirement for an mobile device to access their menu. Rating them three stars, because the fact they don’t have a posted menu anywhere in the establishment or if they do, not easy to fine. My friendly conversation with one of the employees taking my order, was very hospitable when I had trouble trying to find a menu and was not sure what was on it. Passionate informative employees making great recommendations to my order, delivering amazing results. Although simple and avaliable practically everywhere, the sausages were very good and rounded out the salt content of the meal nicely. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it but the side sausage came with two thick 4" sausages approximately 1" diameter. A surprise winner though was I also ordered a side of sausage. The meatloaf itself was tasteful and firm, the potato bits were well crisped, cheese, spinach, and peppers were all well balanced and flavorful, but nothing was stand out amazing. Everything else was good and satisfying but nothing amazing like the spread. It was okay, but the spread that came with the biscuit (small black cup) was absolutely delicious. Now, I should preface this by saying I don't usually like biscuits but I decided to try theirs anyways. The meatloaf hash came with a choice of biscuit or toast, and egg style. The dishes came with fairly large portions and it ended up being a struggle to finish it all. I had the Meatloaf Hash and shared a Blueberry Flapjack.
